Harlequin's Haven
Greetings Cosmic Cousins and Solar friends,

Old men ought to be explorers
Here and there does not matter
We must be still and still moving
        Into another intensity -

                T.S. (Thomas Stearns) Eliot [link]

Do you agree with T.S. Eliot?  How do you feel when he says, "we must be still and still moving?"  I know that when I chose this quote the hook for me was that we must be "still moving into another intensity."

The Big intensity is our big news for this month.  On August 1 8:12pm AEST 9 degrees Leo is a powerful eclipse.  Actually this eclipse reflects the energy from July 1990 and you may revisit themes and issues in your life at this cosmic juncture.

This is the second eclipse season for 2008 which began July

Jar of Jems
Dearest Jems,

It's a crisp winter’s day here in the Nation's Capital.  The air is chilled and the skies are lined with a crimson cloud fest.  Balancing delicately on the marbled mish mash cotton wool duvet a striking balloon captures my stare.  Nature has once again grabbed me, dazzled me beyond expression.  I look into the vista that is beyond the normalness of highways and cars speeding into responsibility of everyday life and feel immensely grateful.

This gratitude is awash with notions of love for my family and country entwined in joy. I consider if there was nothing more than this moment then I have been truly blessed. After that mesmerizing moment leaves my mind I think that we can experience the ecstasy of the moment; then comes the reality interchanging moment to moment; continuing the spiral of the wheel of fortune tipping and swinging in different directions.  Momentarily where the wheel has stalled, I am supremely happy! And where are you my magnificent friend?  Are you happy?  Do you crave the beauty in your everyday world - the aesthetics of nature in all her glory?  How is the summer unfolding in my soul-country?

Winter here in the alpine region of Australia is quite entertaining.  We are experiencing a great falls of snow with a light dusting in the low country.  I know that snow is not all that surprising for North Americans but here in Australia it is a winter wonderland treat for our skiers and snowboarders.

Actually I love the complexity of the seasons and the fact I am experiencing four seasons here in my new home is pretty exciting.  I walked past my letter box the other morning to go to work and it was white from frost and even this sighting brought a smile to my face.  I am riveted to the three tiny maple trees outside my window primed upright and standing there so brave and bare naked branches braving the winter chill. I can’t wait to see the first nodules of spring appear on their stick limbs.

I’ve noticed Jems that with the changing of the seasons the dispositions of my friends and colleagues align.  What I mean is that on a grey day people are dragging their feet whimpering and wondering when the color will return to the skies. They seem to crave blending in with the Technicolor wonder of our Universe. Conversely, on a sunny bold and bright day a spring in their step is replicated. And of course on the wet and rainy days - I am sure that you can picture the rest?  It seems that our emotional world is motivated by the seasons and that we ourselves feel the vibe that is our natural motivator - Mother Nature.  Confusion reigns on those days when it is grey and rainy outside and you are vibrant and absolutely blooming with vitality on the inside.  I will have to work on that one, I think?
