Harlequin's Haven
Greetings Cosmic Cousins,

Here we are smack bang in December - can you believe it?  No, me neither - but hey let's face it - it comes right after November so, the beat goes on!  Before I launch into this months column I must apologise for my tardiness and the lateness of the E-Zine, although I have the best excuses - hold on I need to reach over into my little red bag and pull one or two out.  Oops . . . sorry! Fresh out of excuses! I will just have to tell the truth.

Honestly, I have been enchanted by my new abode.  Today we went to Tidbinbilla or Canberra's Space Centre.  The adventure was a spiritual cavort as we navigated the

Jar of Jems
Greetings Jems,
Do you realize that we have been sharing our conversations with the world for nearly a year?  It is hard to believe that we are facing the closing curtain on another year and yes as you say the perfect time for reflection. Don't you think it ironic though how we reflect at this time of year and yet we are in the midst of the positive and outgoing energy of Sagittarius, although, of course we end the year with the sobering subterranean Capricorn energy?
I know what you are saying about the energetic display or preferences of people who inspire or surround us in our everyday lives.  At work I prefer a soft uplifting music reverie and yet there are others who are enchanted by a more formidable Goth Rock.  I find the differences in musical choice as intriguing - but still rather entertaining.
Speaking of differences, as I told you before last weekend I entered the fascinating realm of short film production.  Previously, I had written a script about an old bag lady, named Marge.  The story originated from my writing class in 2005 where I would encourage my students to choose a black and white photograph from a collection called Photolanguage and write a short story or synopsis based on their impression of the picture. One night I observed the entire group of students look at this one photograph and show signs of repulsion on their faces and promptly avoid the photo.  Of course I couldn't resist. I went over, picked up the photo and wrote a 500 word story.  From that humble beginning a screenplay was written and now this short story has life of it's own and is being prepared to be entered into the Tropfest 2007 Short Film Festival.
During the filming, I observed people as they passed the actor playing the main character, Marge - a "dero".  At this stage no one really knew that we were making a film and this outgoing spontaneous woman couldn't help herself, she had to smile and greet them with polite salutations.  Their reaction was precious, Jems.  It appeared that they were repulsed by this woman.  They looked at her and saw a dero and they could not connect with her in any way.  I was horrified and yet not surprised.
It was then I realized that we were standing at the axis of irony.  Looking across Lake Burley Griffin I saw the stately buildings of our Nation and here before me was this woman without any assets other than the contents of her trolley. Our location was where a visionary had seen a magnificent Lake out of a poor excuse for a river and where the grand plan of our Nation's Capital was cast.  This paradox was enlightening.
Jems, this year has been a major shift in my own transformation.  I have traveled from my tropical paradise and settled into the comforting embrace of the Brindabellas.  Over the past few months I
