Question: My friends tell me I'm a "chronic rescuer". What can I do to stop?
CR
Dear Chardy,
I am lonely and don't have any friends. Can you tell me what to do?
NN-M
Dear Nigel,
Yes, . . . and I could tell you where to go also Sweetheart, but I'm not that cruel - even though it's cold out here and I'm feeling prickly. Look, we all want to "belong" to a group of people or flock - whatever your preference. You my friend, need to take a risk and be a part of the human race! Go out and smile at people and they will smile back. If that doesn't work, come and join me on the 3rd bench on the left at the park.
Answer: Dear CR, if you are talking about saving the whales then Greenpeace might be the place to go - but if you're talking about the human race, there is a rock climbing place in town. Look Sweetie, rescuing people has lots og inbuilt psychological kudos and there are lots of self-help books out there you could read - but in my v-a-s-t experience, you've got to self-help yourself.
