Dear Judge Chardy,
I was reading in the paper this weekend that there are serious concerns for the safety and comfort of our homeless citizens. Do you feel safe? How do you cope with the abhorrent conditions that a homeless person must endure?
Genuinely Concerned
Dear Gen,
Thank you, for caring. It seems strange but most people just walk past and pretend not to see us or they may see an article in the paper and use it for toilet paper (just to put a crude endnote on this statement).
I am not going to lie to you (wouldn't matter if I did - I don't even know you) since you seem to be caring enough to sit and write to me I will answer your question as honestly as I can.
What I will say is that my home and family were taken from me via the "injustice system" however my imagination reins supreme. I could sit and bemoan this miscarriage of justice but I choose to live each day like a rare and precious diamond.
You know that Monty Python movie, "Life of Brian" well the last song in that move is my purposeful motto, "Always look on the bright side". Look, Gen I know that this song has been quoted over the ages but I always find myself meandering back to the tune and even been guilty of bellowing the lyrics as a way of self entertainment.
I believe that we can be anywhere, anytime within the realms of our imagination - perhaps you can try it sometime and give me a ticket to ride into your secret world.
