Technology can be funny!
Last month an old chestnut about the poor user who thought that her CD/DVD drive was a built-in coffee cup holder!
Then there's th good old trick that IT guys & girls have been playing on each other since the coming of the optical mouse. (What's an optical mouse when it's home . . . a miraculously cured one the the Three Blind Mice? . . . No, it's todays moden mouse that has no ball to pick up all th dirt from metres around your desktop and jam it into some rollers to make your mouse movements very erratic . . . maybe making you think you've got Parkinson's!) Back to the trick: Simply placing some Magic Tape over the light emitter/receiver will cause sufficient interruption to the red light to stop all mouse pointer movements when the mouse is moved and a quick glance under the mouse shows the red light but not the Magic Tape!!
Then there's the user who had a problem finding the "any" key when presented with a message on their screen saying " . . . completed. Press any key to continue . . "
See you all next year . . when with more good luck than good management your Techo will be appearing in a fresh new format. Have a good one!
