Greetings Cosmic Cousins,
February 2012 promises to be a mystical trek through the galaxy. There are lots of spiritual delights in the celestial banquet.
We have just celebrated the year of the water dragon. This year will be imbued by the intense and dynamic year. In 2012 we can expect that Water will have a calming effect on the Dragon's fearless temperament. Water allows the Dragon to re-direct its enthusiasm, and makes him more perceptive of others. These Dragons are better equipped to take a step back to re-evaluate a situation because they understand the art of patience and do not desire the spotlight like other Dragons. Therefore, they make smart decisions and are able to see eye-to-eye with other people. However, their actions can go wrong if they do not research or if they do not finish one project before starting another.
I predict that “water” will be a key theme throughout 2012. We will no doubt be hearing about lots of water related issues. So watch this space.
We are now in the Sun phase of Aquarius, the water bearer. Aquarius is not a water sign but our icon shows that Aquarians are comfortable near the water. Aquarius is an air sign – adaptable and detached. They can be quite aloof or even be a non-conformist. On a positive note they are the humanitarian of the zodiac and if out of balance they can appear to be unemotional. I think that most Aquarians I have met are very adaptable to their situation – they turn themselves into a perfect reflection of the immediate environment.
Our two significant Moon phases this month are February 8, Full Moon in Leo at 8:54am. The Leo Moon represents a time of year where the creativity and leadership are highlighted. Often described as symbolic of the “inner child”, with the insightful Moon full in Leo, accessing your artistic talents and playful nature comes easier. Leaders of all kinds are in the spotlight, so if there’s something you’d like to improve in your world, take charge and direct energy to your satisfaction. Communication planet, Mercury aligns with the Sun, highlighting the need for a clear self expression. Ideas are abundant, and act as a direct channel from
your higher self. Jot down insights and dreams that emerge now – they’ll guide you in the coming weeks and months.
The New Moon on February 22 at 9:34am inspires us and aligns with spiritual Neptune, making this one of the most energetic and emotive new Moons of 2012. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to tart creatively inspired projects or a new spiritual/meditation ritual, this is it. Neptune and Pisces encourage you to dance with the muses and escape daily life. Boundaries between your conscious and unconscious selves are blurred now, help you access the wisdom of your divine self. Follow your intuition may mean a temporary backtrack, but doing so ensures you experience the fullness of key events.
New Moon seeds ready for planting are in the form of:
• Imagination
• Inner happiness
• Psychic sensitivity
• Trust/mystic awareness
• Spiritual healing
• Compassion
• Releasing helplessness
• Bliss
• Ecstasy
February is a number two month and so it is time to consolidate any new changes and allow family matters
to come to the fore. It is also a time for reading the small print and dotting the “I’s” and crossing the “t’s”.
The Six of Pentacles is representative of commitment and generosity. There is money or substance to be shared and where the individual will be called upon to offer generosity or be the recipient of another’s generosity. Faith in life and in one’s capacities is regained.
Our Goddess for February is The Erinyes. Believe me I have chosen this card intuitively – not by choice – well maybe a subconscious choice. After all we can’t have a sweet and gentle Goddess every month. Sometimes we have to face the truth – take a reality check.
The mythology around the Erinyes (pronounced eh-rin’yees) was the forces of retribution personified as three immortal dark maiden Goddesses. They took revenge and punished anyone who killed their kin in matriarchal pre-Hellenic Greece.
The meaning of this card is crisis. This is a time to face a situation with clear vision and honesty. The way to nurture wholeness lies in reaching out for help. Whether it is from the human, animal, or spiritual kingdoms, help is required at this juncture of excess, psyche-breaking stress, and instability. Identify and name the kind of crisis you are in. If you crisis is psychological, call a crisis hot line or make an appointment with a healer of psyches. If your crisis is financial or job related, seek financial assistance or find a career counsellor. If it involves health, visit a health-care practitioner. It is vital for you to get the help and support you need.
Our totem for February is Porcupine. This totem is a gentle reminder not to get caught up in the chaos of the adult world of greed, and suffering. The medicine in this card is that of relief from seriousness and severity. Open your heart to those things that gave your joy as a child. Remember the preciousness of fantasy and imagination, and making some game or toy from nothing but scraps. Honour the playfulness of spirit that lets everyone win.
I’ve chosen Chrysocolla as our stone for February.
Chrysocolla is a tranquil and sustaining stone. It helps meditation and communication. Within the home, Chrysocolla draws off negative energies of all kinds. It can help you to accept with serenity situations that are constantly changing, invoking great inner strength. It is beneficial to relationships that have been rocky, stabilising and healing both the home and personal interaction.
It seems that February will be a busy and dynamic short month. Make sure that you tap into the healing energy of this calm and reenergising crystal.
Have a great month and see you in March!
Peace and Love,
Harles
