Greetings Cosmic Cousins,

This month we are highlighting the cosmic influences for June.  As usual we will discuss the major moon movements, a little numerology and other esoteric treaties.  Thank you for joining me on this winter in Australia edition.

June is the sixth month of the year.  This can be a testing time and your loyalty might be strained more than any other characteristic.  Domesticity is the key not and intimate relationships are spotlighted.

The Sun is in Gemini.  Gemini loves to communication.  Gemini rules the third house of short journeys, communication, siblings and intellectual jousting.  Gemini’s love learning and investing – they have an insatiable curiosity.

The New Moon is June 12 22 degrees Gemini.  This New Moon’s theme is innovation.  Gemini loves to learn and with both Jupiter and Uranus now breaking new ground in Aries, the time is ripe to forge a new path.  Information, facts and networks support growth and progressions so don’t think you have to go it alone.  Technology has more to offer you than you realise so get connected in new ways.  A tricky Mars/Mercury square could make for heated exchanges – everyone is impatient for something new.  Friction leads to motivation.

Some New Moon wishes could be in these areas:

•    Motion
•    Activity
•    Learning
•    Communication skills
•    Logic/cleverness
•    Social east
•    Positive daily interactions
•    Calming mental anxiety
•    Writing
•    Speaking
•    Effective listening/teaching
•    Mental rapport – understanding different opinions
•    The Internet
•    Brothers, sisters, neighbours, school mates, room mates
•    Tact, acceptance, quick thinking, enjoying the moment and having a social nature

The Full Moon is 26 June 9:03pm eclipse 5 degrees Capricorn.  This Full Moon eclipse draws in the energy of Pluto, Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus suggesting major change.  Structures in your life shift as this eclipse, so close to the Solstice, highlight extremes.  You have come as far down a particular road as you can go for now.  Many alternatives exist.  Experiment.  Make different choices.  This Full Moon is explosive and filled with potential.  A little effort can take you a long way toward an entirely different existence.  Keep a track of the potential of this Full Moon eclipse at: http://www.jestacom.biz/newsite/ezine/Julias_Journal.htm

Our next card in the tarot is: The King of Wands. When the King of Wands appears in a spread, it is time for the individual to encounter that dimension of the personality which initiates new ideas and sells them to others, thereby generating change in one’s own life and in the immediate environment.  It is the spirit of leadership the belief that one has a better idea which is worth promulgating and working to make manifest.  This dimension of life may appear in the form of a fiery, impulsive person entering one’s sphere, someone who infects others with the power of his ideas.  But if such a person enters one’s life it is not by chance, but rather an augury of one’s own need for development.

Our Goddess for June is Hathor.  Hathor, a nourishing great mother goddess is the Egyptian mother of all gods and goddesses.  Usually portrayed as a cow, she is a sky goddess, queen of the heavens: the sun emerges from her womb and the moon from her breast.  She is the goddess of love, mirth, beauty and sensual pleasure, as well as protector of women.

In her other guise, she is a lady of the night and queen of the underworld. With her lion’s head, Hathor assumes the role of destroyer and giver of death.  In her leopard skin she is the goddess of fate and fortune and typifies the ferocity and swiftness of this animal, a night prowler and watcher.

Hathor is a strong embodiment of the many sides of existence.  Creator, sustainers, destroyer, she encompasses all.  Hathor reminds us that we too must acknowledge all parts of our ourselves in order to allow our creativity and compassion to flourish.

Our animal totem for June is whale.  The whale is the record keeper.  Whale is very much like a swimming library.  Whale carries the history of Mother Earth and is said to have been placed here by the Ancients from the Dog Star, Sirius.

The whale is asking you to tap into these records and to allow yourself to be sung to by those who have the original language.  We are only creatures who do not have our own unique cry or call.  Find yours.  Allow your voice to sue this sound to release tension or emotion.  Whale signals a time of finding your origins, of seeing your overall destiny as coded in your DNA, and of finding the sounds that will release those records.  You may never be the same again.

You are the melody of the Universe, and the harmony is the song of the other creatures.  In using your voice to open your memory, you are expressing your uniqueness, the animals that are your nine totems may then send their sounds or calls to you or through you.  This will open your personal records so that you may further explore your soul’s history and commune with Whale, who carries the history of all of us.

Our crystal for June is Hematite.  This is not a pretty stone by any means but it is one that is primarily unique to Gemini’s. And I will tell you why. Hematite is particularly effective at grounding and protecting.  It harmonises mind, body and spirit.

This stone has a strong yang element and balances the meridians redressing the yin imbalances.  It dissolves negativity and prevents negative energies from entering the aura, restoring peace and harmony to the body.

Hematite is beneficial for legal situations.  Psychologically, Hematite is strong.  It supports timid women, boosts self esteem and survivability, enhances will power and reliability, and imparts confidence.  This stone removes self-limitations and aids expansion.  It is a useful stone in overcoming compulsions and addictions.  I would suggest that this is a perfect crystal for the upcoming eclipse and for pushing all of us back on track.

May June be the pivotal month in your souls evolution and expansion.

Be well, be content.

Love, Peace and Harmony,

Harles

Dearest Jemstar!

June 1st is the official start of winter in Australia.  The leaves are falling from my maples and the earth is preparing for sleep.  It’s raining today and I am grateful.  I can almost see that the watery blessings from the sky are being absorbed, lapped up before my eyes.  The sound of my plants are humming a loud, ahh as I watch their leaves stretch for another droplet of life giving moisture.

The sky is dark and grey and the clouds are hanging low over the Gundaroo escarpment.  This frosty shawl brings out the coloured pashmena and snugly attire.  People racing by are wearing fleecy boots while doing Russian leaps over puddles and muddy ground.  There is a hive on wintry activity and I am delighted in this passing parade of excitement.

Sure we are preparing for the cold.  The frosty mornings and the ice and freezing air will dampen our spring time enthusiasm.  Just as the earth is slowing down and ready to embark into her hibernation we must also consider it is time for us to prepare for the next phase.

On a personal level this seasonal shift is bring out a little frustration for me.  I’ve been waiting for formal notification of a career move and I’ve been feeding my impatience with poor food choices.  I know better, Jems but it is like I can’t stop myself from indulging in treats that are not good for me.  This instant gratification seems to be the only solace on this period of waiting.  Of course the impact of these indulgences is that I have put on weight.  The cycle of dissatisfaction is playing havoc with my self image.  I seem locked in a phase of hurry up and wait.  Fortunately, I am balancing these hedonistic infractions with lots of water and herbal teas.

I am sorry if this letter seems a little dreary but I feel the pull of Saturn retrograde in my life and I feel stuck or frozen.

I know that you are experiencing spring and are preparing for the summer.  Please share what highlights are on offer in your hemisphere, My Dear Friend.  Perhaps I can thrive vicariously through your vision.

Love and Peace,

Jar

Dear JAR,

I must say that it does take some time and a great deal of effort not to take offense and welcome the cold shoulder of winter! We so love and miss the lovely high-pressure cosmic hugs that those long-gone summery days of puffy clouds generously press our way. We can almost feel like we have been abandoned by the heavens, and left here on Earth to figure out where we belong in this chilly atmosphere!

Never fear! T’is is the season of Tough Love! After we have been awakened by the gentle warmth of Mother Spring, generously fed by Auntie Summer, intellectually challenged by Grandma Autumn, we are now being asked by Grandpa Winter, that old curmudgeon Jack Frost, to show him what we can do with what we have learned. He is a stern taskmaster, removing all props that keep us comfortable, and demands to watch what we do with what we have. He does not accept whining or complaining, but we also have to remember that he will never desert us if we should fall short. While we are waiting, he teaches us patience. Or at least that we don’t have any! He teaches us about who we are through silence and stillness.

Winter is the season of silence. We can feel very much alone if we are used to having a lot of noise in our atmosphere – and that includes the self-talk that keeps us company. When there is no perceived support coming forth in our lives, we fill that perceived void with negative affirmations that we are not worthy of what we are waiting for; we think otherwise it would have appeared already! The voice of self-talk is loud and clear, even though it, too, is silent to those around us.

We make the effort to keep in mind whatever it is that we are waiting for, and then when we can’t sit still, and feel forgotten or unloved, we feed that image with every bite of our food reward. It then becomes that while we are “WAITING,” we are also “WEIGHTING!” We cannot move forward and we can’t stay still, so we backtrack and revisit old habits.  It is interesting to see that we fluctuate between the past and the future - when the only reality is HERE and NOW.  The frustration with the inability to move, has us viewing the present as being STUCK/WAITING/WEIGHTING. If we place our feet firmly on the ground, NOW, IN THIS MOMENT, it is only then, after we connect to where we are, RIGHT NOW, and embrace (and forgive!) that reality of ours, that we can LEAN (as opposed to fat)into the future. Tomorrow never comes – it becomes today. Past and future are illusions.

Emotion is behaviour. We can, and do, feel any number of things in the course of the day. But feeding any of those feelings adds to their strength. When they get strong enough, however, they become behaviour~ behaviour that then takes on a life of its own. Saturn will challenge us to review those behaviours with a cold eye, a task that makes us weak in the knees (need I remind you that Saturn/Capricorn rules the knees/bones?) Our knees need to be strong and flexible, to be able to hold our weight as well as propel us to our desired destination. If they are wobbly, we can neither stand in place nor move ahead. We love to be nurtured, and are sometimes afraid of what we will find when we look a bit deeper, because it might entail more hard work (Saturn again!) Yet work on the Self is probably the most rewarding thing there is, because it begins and ends with YOU! Any other rewards that trickle in from the outer world are simply icing on the cake. (Or carrots, if you’d rather avoid the sweets. )

So that’s how it seems to me how Old Man Winter/Saturn/Jack Frost works. After we are so exhausted from all this reflection/waiting/weighting, we find ourselves welcoming the cool silence, and begin to embrace it. It is so much more comforting than we first thought, and we slowly drift off to the sleep of frosty stillness.

Is this a dream I am having? Do I see a flash of green? Do I hear songbirds in the distance? The cold is beginning to disappear as Old Man Winter, smiling and nodding in approval, hands the icy white blanket to Mother Spring. As she gently and lovingly accepts his offer, it slowly turns warm and green in her hand. She embraces us awake, wrapping the soft, lush verdancy around us to commence yet another round of the precious cycle of life.
Hang in there, Dear JAR!

You are as unique as a snowflake: one in a million!
